Marriott Vacation Club Destinations resale: points, booking and transfer questions

Marriott's official ownership information distinguishes vacation-club ownership from its wider Abound exchange offering and other Marriott products.
- Recorded inventory name
- MARRIOTT VACATION CLUB DESTINATIONS
- Ownership context
- Multi-resort program; confirm the exact interest
- Location reference
- Multiple destinations; the inventory office address is not an accommodation
Start with the exact ownership
Begin with the product, not a resort photograph. A Destinations points interest, a resort week, exchange participation and Bonvoy loyalty points describe different things; compare the documentation and transfer conditions for the interest actually offered.
Destinations, Abound and Bonvoy are different terms
Marriott’s official ownership information discusses Destinations ownership and Abound by Marriott Vacations. Its legal disclosures distinguish interests held by the MVC Trust from accommodations available through exchange arrangements. A buyer should ask which underlying interest is offered and which enrollment or exchange conditions would apply after resale. A Bonvoy loyalty balance is not a substitute for that explanation.
The buyer question to answer first
What Destinations interest is being transferred, and which booking, enrollment and exchange rights will the new owner receive?
- Ask Dana and the buyer team which ownership record and current reservation rules support the answer for your chosen listing.
Put the price and continuing costs together
Request the latest recurring bill with its fee year and billing period, plus a written breakdown of one-time transfer and closing costs. Check any separately charged membership, exchange or stay costs. This guide does not quote a current fee or valuation.
What a seller should prepare
Identify the annual allocation, use-year timing, available balance and any banked or borrowed usage, with separate program enrollment clearly documented.
Include the resort or program and an MLS reference when available. Laura and the seller team can explain the next information needed for an evaluation.
Questions buyers and sellers ask
What Destinations interest is being transferred, and which booking, enrollment and exchange rights will the new owner receive?
Identify the contract or ownership record, current administrator and written reservation rules before relying on a marketing example. Ask which usable allocation and benefits remain with the interest after transfer.
Where can I find a current resale price or fee for Marriott Vacation Club Destinations?
Open the relevant listing and ask the team to confirm its recorded asking price, latest recurring bill and transaction costs. An asking price is not a completed-sale valuation; a fee without its year and billing period is not a current cost comparison.
